Revised School Timings in Punjab for Ramadan 2025
The School Education Department of the Government of the Punjab issued an official notification regarding revised school timings during the Holy Month of Ramadan 2025. According to this notification , all educational institutions and schools in Punjab will follow modified schedules for single-shift and double-shift systems.
From Monday to Thursday, single-shift schools will operate from 8:30 AM to 1:00 PM, while on Fridays, these schools will run from 8:30 AM to 12:00 PM. For double-shift schools, the morning shift will run from 8:30 AM to 12:30 PM, and the afternoon (or evening) shift will commence at 1:00 PM and end at 4:00 PM on weekdays. On Fridays, the afternoon shift in double-shift schools will begin at 2:30 PM and conclude at 5:00 PM.
An important note mentioned in the notification is that girls’ schools are required to start and finish their sessions 15 minutes earlier than the timings indicated above. This adjustment is intended to streamline the schedule and accommodate the needs of female students and staff during Ramadan.
The notification further specifies that all Deputy Commissioners in Punjab, the Director Public Instructions (SE/EE), the Chief Executive Officers (DEA), and the heads of attached departments, PEF, DREP, Cadet Colleges, and QAED have been instructed to implement these timings in their respective institutions. Heads of schools in Punjab are expected to ensure full compliance with these revised timings and maintain smooth academic operations throughout the month of Ramadan.
