Punjab Schools Allow Relaxation in Uniform Policy for Winter
The Government of Punjab’s School Education Department has released an official notification regarding the relaxation of the uniform policy in all public and private schools in Punjab. This notification is dated 15th December 2024 and aims to ensure the comfort and health of students during the cold winter season.
Announcement
To protect students from the harsh winter weather, the government has allowed flexibility in school uniforms. According to the notification (No. SO (A-I) 1-31/2022), students can wear warm clothing of their choice until 28th February 2024.
Students may wear:
- Jersey
- Sweater
- Blazer
- Coat
- Jacket
- Cap
- Socks
- Shoes (and other winter attire)
This relaxation allows students to dress warmly without worrying about uniform restrictions.
Instructions for Schools
The notification directs all Chief Executive Officers (DEAs) and heads of public and private schools to ensure strict compliance with this policy. Schools must follow the guidelines to ensure that students remain warm and protected from cold weather.
The Deputy Director (Monitoring) is also instructed to upload the notification on the official website of the School Education Department for public awareness.
