The Government of Sindh has officially declared 25th December 2024 (Wednesday) as a public holiday. This announcement is made to mark the celebration of Quaid-e-Azam Day and Christmas. The holiday will apply to all government offices, autonomous bodies, semi-autonomous bodies, corporations, and local councils under the administrative control of the Sindh Government. However, organizations providing essential services are exempt from this holiday and will remain operational.

This notification, issued by Asif Hyder Shah, the Chief Secretary of Sindh, emphasizes the recognition of this important day for both the Christian community and the nation as a whole, commemorating the birth anniversary of the founder of Pakistan, Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah.

Importance of the Holiday

This holiday holds great significance for the people of Pakistan as it celebrates two pivotal occasions:

  2. Christmas: Celebrating the joyous occasion of Christmas with the Christian community, recognizing the diverse cultural and religious fabric of Sindh.

The declaration of this public holiday highlights the Sindh Government’s commitment to fostering religious harmony and respecting national heritage.
